Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is an actor from Denmark. Danish actor. He has acted as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) and the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he won the Reumert Prize of Honour At 27 years old He attended the National Theatre School of Denmark where he was graduated in the year 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series released globally under the title The Killing He was later featured in two more internationally popular Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He also had a prominent role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his character in the lead character on the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. It was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019.
